Helena Kapidzic and Alexander Gerlach are the Berlin duo behind fash'usic, that's fashion and music, label Nicone. Helena comes via the stylist, make up artist route while Alexander takes cues from graphic design and his day job as a musician. Nicone began blending beats and basics for guys and gals just over a year ago in October 2007 and have already shown at Pret-a-Porter. Most of the collection is based on a simple formula of easy to wear versatile separates on classic cut jersey wear. A photo graphic print style with an elementary use of colour, don't watch the red Hammer sag pants, its residual 80's revival.
My favourites are the graphic tees, Dove which looks a little more like a pigeon than a bird of peace ? and the Princess Leia'esq Babuschka. The all in one is up there because its lighthearted and lets be honest fun! fabulous on good legs or larking about in waist high water. It reminds me of a one piece baby summer outfit without the poppers. Nicone sell in Germany and Spain and have entered the UK via trend focused boutiques Concrete and NO ONE. Good luck at Bread & Butter.. may the force be with you!
