The Thread Bare Project by Stacy Anderson

Fortunate enough to be having my fair share of wonderful experiences at the London College of Fashion. Meeting  inspiring individuals from around the world is top of the list. One of the best so far is Stacy Anderson from Canada is one such individual. We met at the start of the MA Strategic Fashion Marketing course in 2008, worked on a group project and have basically stayed in touch. Stacey is what you'd call a go-getter-kid of gal. As well being extremely talented at marketing niche sustainable luxury fashion brands she also does it with amazing drive and passion. Her knack for sustainable fashion landed her a post at NOIR in the PR & Marketing office working with stylists, liaising with Noir's international PR agencies in London, Munich, Paris, train journeys to Paris. Nice gig if you cant get it.

But hang on that's not all she does, she also won herself a competition to produce her self designed collection and the opportunity to be included in a spread in French fashion magazine Dirrty Glam. She's had a placement at Eco-Boudoir and Threadbare has been selected to exhibit at UAL Graduate Fashion Week (details are below). The icing on her eco-cake was an invitation to contribute an article, her case study on eco brand fashion Butcher Couture to the 2nd edition of 'Eco-Chic: TheFashion Paradox' edited by Sandy Black. Not bad for a 16 month stint in London.

Back to the interview Stacy's portion was shot sitting on cold granite steps in the only quite spot we could find in the stairwell at LCF. The rest was shot at Paul studio in N7. See how she brings the worlds of underground art and luxury lingerie together. Its very interesting to hear Stacy, Paul and Simone describe the shoot.. all the same but different. A social and environmental fashion concept that bridges these two worlds on either side of the fashion divide (look out for a surprise guest appearance by Helmut!)
