'Tribute to Cinema' / Moet et Chandon

The email said Moet, dress cocktail, 9pm Blue Sky Studios so after spending 6 3/4 hours in front of a laptop and a pile of text books. A quick change into a black wool Patrick Cox pencil dress and I'm in a taxi with Samson, on the way out to a low key event out with Charlotte Smith. So we're sitting in a black tax, Samson salivating over his Burberry sample sale bargains (the 80% reductions were bona fide!) crawling along Brewery Road N7, I swapped a pair of ankle boots for a pair of beige Josef Bottier stilettos (who is Mr Bottier?? he does great heels). We were totally unprepared for the road block, black carpet, glam individuals (movie stars and socialites) in line, papazarri, TV cameras and rain! We were at Moët"Tribute to Cinema" gala. Not until we were inside did we appreciate Moëts art of celebrating glam

Video and video film clips were projected onto every wall. One the main wall we watched a red headed Scarlett Johansson outside on the carpet autograph a Moët & Chandon Nebuchadnezzar, which will be auctioned off in support of Oxfam. The pièce de résistance was the fabulous gilded Moët cork towards the rear of the studio. At about 10.30 to everyones surprise Scarlett Johansson was revealed as the Hollywood face of Moët & Chandon and then the cork opened slowly. I could just about make out two people inside behind the decks, it was DJ for the night Jefferson Hack and Jerry Bouthier.

So I'm getting thirsty mingling with all the red lips and gorgeous gowns, no Moet for me, I don't drink alcohol. Finally found the bar and a new favourite non alcoholic cocktail, fresh raspberry & pomegranate juice filled with juicy berries. Other than Charlotte and Samson I was really wasn't expecting to see any one that I knew when up pops Shonagh Marshall of vintage exchange Bang Bang wearing Philip Lim and an cocktail ensemble. . A few fruit cocktails, popcorn cones, ice cream, sushi, deep fried pineapple chunks and warm doughnuts later and I literally bump into Dawn Mason, I hadn't seen her since her stint at IMG Models! By now the Bottier heels were beginning to pinch and it was time to say good night a little early maybe but I left with Charlotte. As we left we looked back and waved bye to Samson still dancing in a haze of 80's tracks courtesy of the cork booth DJ duo.

Apparently Thandie Newton, Joseph Fiennes and Melanie Laurent we're in the house didn't see them but I did meet alot of nice people and Charlotte, Shonagh, Norman, Dawn, Mark Ronson and hiding Henry Holland!
