The Convenience Store - Uniform [AW10/10 + Archive]

Last evening the shop keeper Andrew Ibi opened The Convenience Store AW10/11 + Archive Fashion Installation Store at St Martins Lane Hotel. His last installation proved to be so popular that TCS is back at St Martins Lane Hotel for a 2 week stint from the 2nd – 14th August ’10. In true TCS style there was music, clothes, a little tipple, a film screening, 2 live shoots and of course an 'Afterparty.

In terms of the evenings proceedings the event was curated around the  preview of TCS’s AW10/11 direction. With ‘Uniform’ TCS moves away from the frivolous towards the intelligent. Labels like Todd Lynn, Ann-Sofie Back and Michael Lewis are available on pre-order and some labels you can purchase from stock. TCS have also included items from their growing archive (Maison Martin Margiela, Rick Owens, Gareth Pugh, Bruno Pieters, Veronique Branquinho and more) With the support of a host of guests the evening got busier when Andrew began styling and dressing models in the essence of the simple but regulated ‘Uniform’ code for the live look book shoot. The film screening of Fritz Stolberg's, OF THIS, MEN SHALL KNOW NOTHING! featured the work and clothes of Aganovich which you can also pick up from the metal locker closets Andrew has used as display units! It was a tight squeeze moving around the space, clothes on hangers on open doors, the aftermath of the liveshoot and guests shopping from the new collection. Yet the didn’t matter because conceptually Andrew has pulled together a visually engaging and exciting space to showcase his new A/W lines.
