A couple of Saturday's ago, on route to Hackney Wicked Arts Festival to a friends birthday weekender #offtheradar tweets start showing up on the Twidroyd feed. I made a random and what I thought would be a quick detour to 'Off The Radar' Westbourne Studios, Acklam Road near Portobello Market. I wasn't quite sure what to expect but the plan was a quick walk around the Cultured Lifestyle event in good time en route to the Hackney Wick. Not so! suddenly I had two speeds slow and really slow!
Got very caught up chatting to stand designers, makers, brands, tattoo artists, playing pool, eating cup cakes! and taking in the dazzling array of crayon box colours. Check out the full colour spectrum on Fly Prints. And not only that I realised my self imposed immersion into fashion had left a disconnect with street wear, an old flame and it was really good to get reacquainted for a moment. In amongst a sea of primary coloured jersey, t-shirts and trainers I was very pleasantly surprised to see two women's wear stands. Tamu and Alize from African and Ankara textile label Kenemaco and the girls on the slightly more main stream label Jade 'Jezebel' Jagger. Some savvy individualist's were at Off The Radar .. a childhood friend and on the festivals comperes Jean Paul @jpesq, Pins from Pinspired and Osieh from Flyprints.. you guys rock lol!!
