Y-3 City of Lights

Last weekend Y-3 showcased Yohji Yamamoto's mens wear Autumn/Winter 2011/12 collection at 155 rue Saint-Martin in Paris. Too bad Style Canteen didn't make the trip, we'll make it next season! In the interim we're sharing a selection of fantastic images courtesy of Y-3 featuring the collection front and backstage, the 10 year anniversary installation. We feeling the bright highlights, look out for guests wearing orange silk velvet pants and yellow thin stripe corduroys.
In what looks to be a strong collection, we're appreciating Yamamoto's detail. Models marching on interactive treadmills against naturescape terrain stage settings wearing his style of essential classics. Blazers, trench coats, parkas, button-down shirts, Chelsea boots, wool trapper hats are matched with high boots, printed trainers, plaid checks, Japanese print bomber jackets, knitter leggings, slouchy sarouel-style sweatpants and we're thinking intarsia style knitwear.

Again using digital fashion video as a medium Y-3 also screened 'This Is My Dream' a film directed by Theodore Stanley and celebrated ten years of Yamamoto + adidas creative collaboration with an exhibition of some of the highlights from Y-3 footwear and a visual biography of the some of the best of their most influential work.
