Question ? What do a couple of brothers selling fabrics door to door in the 1800's and a gentleman called Alexander Brenninkmeijer have in common ? Clue.. It's an apple doesn't fall far from the family tree connection. The story goes that in the 19th century two brothers Clemens and August sold high quality fabrics directly to wealthy farmers in the north of the Netherlands. Walking by foot from farm to farm they offered an exceptional value. 160 years later Alexander Brenninkmeijer followed the family's entrepreneurial enterprising business model creating a sales strategy that ignores traditional fashion retailing by selling his mens and women's collection's on trunk show tours at selected contemporary art centers and museums around the world. Brenninkmeijer realised that his approach is very similar to the way his ancestors had worked and as a homage he named his label "Clemens en August".
